For Air Force One

11/3/2020

I have started in the search for rapid prototyping procedures. I will mainly look for cheap but viable solutions for our client. If I find a relatively cheap solution, I will begin to set up user testing procedures with our client within next week. If I cannot find one by next week, I will start to pivot into assisting our client to look into benefits within his work and support development on the speech to text application.

The prototype:

The prototype I intend to design and create for our client.

The drawing of a wrist guard attachment with a string and hook attached.
This picture demonstrates the 3D modeling prototype I am modeling in Maya. There is a wrist watch component that will act as the detachable piece that will go on top of the hand.

I will use the green hand as a reference to design a prototype for a typical wrist. I could ask our client to give me his measurements this week and begin creating a rough measurement in Maya to test.

Stress testing

Once I have the dimensions, I will begin to look at other materials I could use to 3D print out this wrist attachment and see if I could incorporate the right amount of weight and limitations on the material for the prototype I would like to build. I need to apply some physics to determine how strong and dense the wrist band needs to be. Creating the right amount of weight and density will be hard to manage remotely, but hopefully there will be an easy solution.
